Take our your suspenders, pocketsquare and your best bow tie, infasHionity is back with a brand new look !
Dear Readers,
Every once in a while I feel inspired to create a look that showcases my “modern dandy” side.
It’s about details, allure and elegance that should feel easy, not forced. Creating a look that is sophisticated, detail-oriented, contemporary but with a retro touch.
That is why I tried and hopefully achieved to do with this new look.
It was an occasion to use a different color palette than in most of my looks – bronze/brown/black/gold – and in particular a pair of Boss selection shoes that I hardly ever wear but really enjoy.
The look is also a lot about mix & matching, as (believe it or not) the jacket, bow, trousers and suspenders all simply come from H&M. I underestimated the store for a long time but have recently developped a new-found respect for some of their pieces. Indeed this jacket’s wool fabric is of pretty good quality, well-cut, and I really liked the color. In addition to the Burberry Brit classic oxford shirt and Massimo Dutti pocketsquare, I finished the look with a pair of Ray Ban’s turtoise clubmaster, which has been my favorite model for years, even when the huge Wayfarer storm hit and everybody was wearing them.
Pushing the sophistication of the look a little further I added my favorite pair of intrecciato leather Bottega Veneta two-toned gloves, which I thought perfectly went along with the look and feel of the outfit, as it only feels natural for a modern dandy to wear leather gloves on a sunny day..
The process of shooting these pictures was quite new for me as I worked with a friend and fellow blogger at AestheticALLY. As you know I shoot 99% of my pictures myself, and it was great to work with someone this time, as she managed to understand my style of pictures and I only had to worry about showcasing the look in the best possible way .
I hope you enjoyed this look and it inspired you to run to your closet and pull out some dandy-like accessories !
I loved wearing it and I think it’s great how nowadays I can look like this on a single day and perhaps tomorrow rock a completely different look. Yes to creativity and versatility, yes to expressing yourself through clothes! That is to me what fashion is for – or should be.
See you soon with new style inspirations.
Infashionably yours,
H
