CULTURAL MIX
Dear readers,
When we think of fashion, we tend, at least in the western culture, to think about french, italian, or amercican designers. However, fashion has not only always existed but also all around the world and in all cultures. It is often one of the defining element of a specific culture. It is therefore very exciting and fresh to discover designers or pieces that are all about mixing different cultural inspirations.
TINA fashion – from Geneva , which stands for This Is New Africa, is a Geneva-based brand born from a local initiative: a group of young people decided to mix their african background with occidental clothes. The result is very exciting, out of the ordinary, colorful. As someone who enjoys prints, I was glad to discover the gorgeous prints used in african textile. The TINA team imports fabrics directly from DRC (Democratic Republic of Congo) and then apply them to existing garments.
For my collaboration with TINA Geneva, I picked two pieces that showcase the cultural marriage.
AFRICAN PRINT DENIM VEST
Nothing could be more trendy right now that a denim vest, and adding a touch of african print is the perfect way to make it look very original. The colorful print also gives many styling possibilities. I created this casual look with green trousers, a simple off white t shirt and some classic Adidas Superstar sneakers .

TOUCH OF COLOR ON A CLASSIC VEST
The TINA concept can be applied to all kinds of clothes. To showcase that, I picked a very different piece: a classic black suit vest, with a beautiful print all over its back.
A great piece to illuminate an outfit.
I hope you enjoyed this new journey, at a crossroad between cultures.
You can discover more pieces on TINA instagram account.
InfasHionably yours,
