Do you think of fashion as an art?
Shot in a location as grand as the Palais de Rumine in Lausanne, discover a new editorial by Henri Balit for INFASHIONITY online magazine where the model is used like the subject of a painting, or a living sculpture.
Dear readers,
I’m very excited to present this new editorial spread.
As you know, my inspiration always comes primarily from the garments I find and style together. And in this case the whole vision came from stumbling upon a shirt at my local Zara store.
It wasn’t even displayed very visibly, I kinda had to look for it in a corner, but that’s usually how I find the best pieces.
A printed oversized viscose – but looks like silk – which print imitated a piece of marble.
It also looked like it had been painted on, which is why my mind immediately went to a musuem, a palace, a grand location where you would find columns, high ceilings and… marble.
I was lucky to find such a location in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The Palais de Rumine is a stunning building built at the beginning of the 20th century and is currently home of several museums as well as a library.
Outfit, location. Next: model.
I thought this printed shirt would look amazing on a dark complexion, and thanks to Square Models Agency I found Rabbi.
With his intense stare, symetrical face, and elegant movements, he was perfect for the pictures I had in mind.
I was quite influenced by the visual for the song Ape**** by Beyoncé and Jay-Z, which was shot at none other than the Louvre in Paris, and is a great fusion of classic works of art and contemporary urban dance and clothing.
Here is the moodboard I put together ahead of our shoot:
And here is the result!
Thanks again to Palais de Rumine for letting us shoot there.
I hope you enjoyed this new story!
InfasHionably yours,
H
